Winter is about turning inward, a time to connect to Mother Nature's rhythm, to hibernate and recuperate. December, an opportunity to nest, cultivate inner magic and embrace the spells of solstice.
This space held by Gail will provide you with stillness to reflect on the year's activity and exploration with warmth and gratitude.
First, a journey of slowing down, softening and allowing through a variety of restorative asana that provide recuperation and replenishment. You will use a multitude of props to facilitate your body and your practice, enabling you to feel safe and supported as you fall into the meditative sorcery of long-held shapes. These poses will encourage total well-being for the body and the mind, harnessing the power of stillness and focussing on physical and psychological comfort. The desire is to promote deep relaxation and alleviate any tension or stress.
Sink into festive tea, mince pies and a moment of contemplation before being guided through a Yoga Nidra practice, accessing the unconscious mind in the dream-like state between sleep and wakefulness - the ultimate restoration enchantment.
Students are encouraged to bring anything that will give them extra comfort; a favourite bolster, eye pillow, an extra blanket, socks, anything that supports cosy, snuggly, spellbinding bliss. There will also be a chance to journal so feel free to bring a notebook and a pen.
May this gathering be an invitation to take rest and top-up your self-care cup with the powerful potion of a pause.
