Process & Presence | When Mindfulness Meets Art

*Brand NEW* training with YUJMU that teaches art processes & practices to transform the chaos of the mind into connection to the present moment.

Accessing Your Inherent Peace Of Mind

Have you ever paused to think about the spaces between your thoughts—the quiet moment where something raw and serene wants to emerge from?

It’s an ever present calming space in our lives, like the tranquility you can find below the ocean’s surface even during a storm.

What if you could access that space more readily, whenever you wanted or needed, even without years of psychological training or meditation practice?  It turns out you can and the vehicle to do it has been around you all along; Art.

What Attendees Can Expect

Through guided practices and lectures you will gain new perspectives on mindfulness, find new ways to connect to those moments of calm between your thoughts and unlock transformative potential for yourself as well as how to share this access-hack with others?

Learn about, and experience, how process, Zen and expression all come together through you in the moment of creation. Additionally immerse in a setting where we take time accepting the results of our creative moments, as they are, rather than wishing they were different or moving immediately to the next thing.

Art is a visceral connection to the inner parts of ourselves that we too easily take for granted.

Come along and learn accessible techniques from both ancient and modern traditions that can be learned and performed by anyone with no previous experience or ability necessary, such as:

•
Haiku | Poetry »

Find the present moment quickly & clearly through short poems.  This Japanese form of poetry is quick to learn yet continues to enlighten and ripen to fruition over a lifetime.

Mandala | Sacred Geometry »

A drawing practice that can be itself meditation while also producing mesmerizing mandalas on a small or large scale.  Cultivate deep patience and attention to detail with infinite ways to customize.

Enso | Painting »

This Zen art of drawing a circle with ink provides no escape from “mistakes”.  You are expressed in your entirety, in that creation moment, learn to appreciate and rest in it.  Merge with brush & paper in a moment of action and contemplate the results.

Wabi Sabi Photography »

Learn the Japanese aesthetic principles of Wabi Sabi and the perfection of imperfection.  Explore through photography how an image moves the eye and the mind.  Make more intentional choices while also learning to let go of results.

Why Mindful Art?

  • Mindfulness is not just for meditation, it is a balanced way of being while performing your daily activities.

  • Art is not just about creating an object to marvel at, it is a way of engaging with processes that bring about certain experiences.

We can then use the processes of Art to be more Mindful.  This can be, for some, an entrypoint into Mindfulness concepts & experiences that feels more accessible or enjoyable.

Here’s why this could be exactly what you didn’t know you were searching for:

• A Reset Button for Your Perception

Our perception of our surroundings gets stuck in ruts—whether you’re an artist, a teacher, or just navigating life. This training helps you break out of routine ways of seeing & expressing and discover the joy of expressive processes rather than outcomes or objects.

• Tools for Presence

Learn practices that nurture presence—with yourself, with like-minded souls, and most importantly, with the experience of this moment.

• Teaching That Feels Like Play

If you already teach you can bring something truly new & casual (yet nonetheless profound) to your yoga or wellness offerings. Incorporating Art and Mindfulness adds depth and accessibility to your teaching in ways that feel familiar and fun. For those who aren’t already teachers this is a fantastic way to begin!

What Awaits You

It’s all about creating space—space for yourself, space for new processes, space to see the world differently. And when you return to your daily life, you’ll carry the clarity and tools to share this with others.

This training is more than an experience; it’s a reset, a reconnection, and a rediscovery of the expressive spirit that’s always been inside you.

Are you ready to explore what happens when mindfulness meets art?
